Job Description

C-Suite Executive Search, a division of RBNC's CXO Search & Interim Services, is dedicated to recruiting top-tier professionals for positions with a minimum annual base salary of USD 250,000 at the global, regional, and local levels.

Our client, a multi-billion-dollar Chemical & Pharmaceutical company with an extensive global footprint across 65 countries, is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Regional Head of Talent and Organizational Development. Based in London, UK, this pivotal role will be responsible for spearheading the Talent & Organizational Development (T&OD) agenda across the entire Europe Region. This is an individual contributor role, requiring a proactive and autonomous leader to drive the T&OD strategy and execution.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Regional T&OD Agenda Development:

  • Collaborate closely with the Global Head of T&OD and individual Country Heads of T&OD within the European region to co-create and refine the regional T&OD agenda.
  • Actively contribute unique local insights, market specificities, and cultural nuances from the European context to ensure the regional agenda is both globally aligned and locally relevant, addressing specific regional talent needs and business challenges.
  • Translate global T&OD strategies into actionable regional priorities, ensuring seamless integration with overarching business objectives.

Leadership in T&OD Plan Development & Delivery:

  • Provide expert leadership in the end-to-end development, planning, and execution of a comprehensive T&OD plan for the Europe Region.
  • Ensure this plan is meticulously aligned with global T&OD frameworks, methodologies, and strategic imperatives, while also being tailored to meet the distinct requirements of the European business units.
  • Oversee the entire lifecycle from conceptualization to successful implementation, ensuring all initiatives contribute to the region's talent growth and organizational effectiveness.

Design and High-Quality Delivery of T&OD Interventions:

  • Lead the meticulous design of impactful T&OD interventions, which may include, but are not limited to, leadership development programs, talent management initiatives, succession planning frameworks, organizational design projects, change management strategies, and employee engagement programs.
  • Ensure the securement and delivery of these interventions are of the highest quality, leveraging best practices, innovative learning methodologies, and cutting-edge T&OD tools to maximize effectiveness and measurable outcomes.

Consultancy and Expert Input:

  • Serve as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert, providing strategic consultancy and specialized input to HR Business Partners (HRBPs), senior business leaders, and line managers across the European region.
  • Offer data-driven insights and actionable recommendations on talent challenges, organizational effectiveness, leadership capabilities, and performance improvement strategies.

Performance Gap Closure & Capability Building:

  • Work in close partnership with HRBPs and internal business stakeholders to proactively identify critical performance gaps within teams and across the organization.
  • Strategically leverage T&OD practices, including targeted training, coaching, organizational design adjustments, and talent development pathways, to effectively close these gaps and foster the creation of new, essential capabilities required for future business success.

Support Global People Process & Platform Implementation:

  • Actively support and facilitate the effective implementation of globally aligned people processes and technological platforms within the European region.
  • This includes ensuring smooth adoption, providing regional context and support, and acting as a key liaison between global project teams and regional stakeholders.

Consistency and Continuous Improvement:

  • Collaborate extensively with the global T&OD team to ensure a high degree of consistency and standardization in T&OD policies, platforms, practices, and quality standards across the global organization and specifically within the European region.
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement, regularly reviewing and enhancing T&OD offerings based on feedback, emerging trends, and business needs.

Evaluation, Service Excellence & Third-Party Management:

  • Rigorously evaluate the results and impact of implemented T&OD interventions using specific, measurable functional Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Ensure an excellent level of service delivery and strict conformity with global standards when managing relationships with third-party vendors and external partners, working in close collaboration with HR Services to optimize vendor performance and value.

Vendor Collaboration for Learning Initiatives:

  • Cultivate strong working relationships with external vendors and learning solution providers.
  • Manage the end-to-end process for the delivery of various learning initiatives, from vendor selection and contract negotiation to program execution and performance monitoring, ensuring high-quality and cost-effective solutions.

Regional Rollout of Global Talent Acquisition Strategy:

  • Oversee and ensure the successful regional rollout and implementation of global projects related to the Talent Acquisition strategy within the Europe Region.
  • This includes adapting global guidelines to regional market conditions, supporting local HR and TA teams, and ensuring consistent application of best practices in attracting and acquiring top talent.

Individual Contributor Role:

  • This is a standalone, individual contributor position, requiring exceptional self-motivation, strategic thinking, and the ability to independently drive the entire T&OD strategy and execution for the European region. You will be solely accountable for the success of T&OD initiatives in the region.

Qualifications

Extensive HR and Talent Management Expertise:

  • Possess a minimum of 30 years of progressive experience within Human Resources, demonstrating a deep and broad understanding of HR principles, practices, and strategic functions.
  • Within this tenure, at least 10 years must be dedicated to specialized experience in Talent Management, encompassing areas such as performance management, succession planning, leadership development, career pathing, and employee engagement strategies.

Autonomous Talent Agenda Leadership:

  • Demonstrated ability to independently drive and champion the talent agenda for a large, complex organization. This role specifically requires a proven track record of success as an individual contributor, taking full ownership and accountability for developing, implementing, and measuring T&OD initiatives without direct reports.
  • Additional experience in Talent Recruitment strategy, including employer branding, candidate experience, and strategic sourcing, is considered highly beneficial and will contribute to a holistic approach to talent.

Exceptional Communication and Global Matrix Acumen:

  • Exhibit outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex T&OD concepts clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences, including senior executives, HRBPs, and line managers.
  • Proven exposure to and success in working within a global matrix organization, demonstrating the ability to navigate complex reporting lines, influence stakeholders across different geographies and functions, and collaborate effectively with global and regional teams.
