We are seeking a Vice President of APAC Business Development for Animal Healthcare, a renowned Canadian company. This executive-level position will play a pivotal role in accelerating market growth and expansion across the Asia-Pacific region. Based in Sydney, Australia, the role reports directly to the Group CEO.

Key Responsibilities

Drive Market Share and Sales Growth

  • Maximize market share and sales volume for the AHP Cattle segment across APAC channels, aligning with the company's vision to be the Best-Performing and Most Respected player in the Animal Health products market.
  • Develop and implement a strategic sales plan to meet business unit objectives for sales and market share growth.
  • Translate business plans into actionable strategic objectives for the sales force across products and channels.

Strategic Planning and Market Expansion

  • Formulate and execute plans to expand market share in existing markets and penetrate new ones.
  • Conduct competitor analysis to identify new products and emerging market trends.
  • Develop annual operational sales plans for regional execution and ensure consistency across geographies.

Customer and Channel Engagement

  • Build and maintain relationships with major customers, prospects, and sales channels to foster goodwill and drive business continuity.
  • Establish strong relationships with key government and semi-government stakeholders to facilitate channel development.

Collaboration with Product Development and Marketing

  • Provide market insights, customer feedback, and data to the product development team to improve existing products or create new offerings.
  • Support product launches with field trials, ensuring broad market coverage and customer acceptance.
  • Collaborate with the marketing strategy team to design and execute marketing campaigns, promotion plans, and in-store promotions to maximize market impact.

Operational Excellence and Supply Chain Coordination

  • Ensure timely product availability by efficiently coordinating with senior leadership, QA, manufacturing, logistics, and PSO teams.
  • Design and communicate sales processes to align with operational logistics, ensuring seamless product delivery to customer access points.
  • Monitor product launches to enhance market penetration and drive divisional profitability.

Sales Organization and Team Development

  • Maintain a high-performing sales organization capable of achieving sales coverage, market penetration, volume, and margin goals.
  • Develop, train, and motivate staff, ensuring fair evaluations, performance management, and compensation.
  • Ensure optimal manpower allocation across the region.

Innovation in Distribution and Channels

  • Explore and establish new distribution channels to ensure efficient delivery of products to retailers.
  • Drive sales growth through the introduction of new product categories and innovative market approaches.

Performance Metrics and Campaign Effectiveness

  • Measure the success of sales and promotional campaigns through defined metrics, gathering ground-level feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Ensure the availability and proper display of marketing materials at sales points in alignment with marketing guidelines.

Qualifications

  • An MBA is preferred, as is over 25 years of experience in commercial roles such as Sales and Marketing, including proven P&L accountability.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence and build strong relationships.
  • Proven expertise in building and developing high-performing market access teams.
  • Strong ability to translate long-term strategic goals into actionable and effective annual marketing plans.
  • Proficient in analyzing competitor insights and delivering tactical recommendations to drive sales performance.
