Job Description
C-Suite Executive Search, a division of RBNC's CXO Search & Interim Services, is dedicated to recruiting top-tier professionals for positions with a minimum annual base salary of USD 250,000 at the global, regional, and local levels.
Our Client is a premier Group of Venture Capital firms with a robust investment footprint across the Asia Pacific region, specializing in high-growth sectors including E-Commerce, Mobile Advertising & Marketing, and Gaming.
We are seeking a seasoned C-Suite leader to serve as the Vice President of Business Optimization. Based in Shanghai, you will act as a strategic architect for our portfolio, working directly with the leadership teams of our invested companies to refine business models, accelerate growth, and ensure operational excellence. This role is for a "builder" who thrives in the high-stakes environment of global startups and rapid scaling.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Stewardship & Idea Evaluation:
- Serve as a core member of the Executive Team, providing high-level synthesis and critique of new business ideas and investment opportunities.
- Drive the decision-making process for strategic initiatives, ensuring that growth models are sustainable and scalable on a global stage.
Portfolio Coaching & Operational Excellence:
- Act as a high-level mentor and coach to the Top Management Teams (TMTs) of portfolio companies, guiding them through the transition from early-stage startups to mature market leaders.
- Optimize the operating models of various business units, providing hands-on advice on pricing strategies, partner negotiations, and contract frameworks.
Financial & Legal Oversight:
- Provide expert support across the full spectrum of corporate functions, including Strategic Planning, Forecasting, Tax, and Legal.
- Oversee complex deal analysis and manage relationships with private and institutional investors.
- Ensure robust financial health through sophisticated cash management, corporate finance strategies, and M&A integration.
Governance & Performance Tracking:
- Design and implement advanced metrics and scorecards to enhance functional stewardship.
- Manage budget oversight and internal controls, ensuring all portfolio companies are audit-ready and compliant with international standards.
Qualifications
- Senior Leadership: 30+ years of finance and accounting leadership experience, with a heavy emphasis on finance operations.
- Sector Expertise: Deep roots in Technology Product companies and a proven track record of operating within a startup during periods of dynamic, global expansion.
- Funding & Exit Success: A documented history of navigating successfully funded private companies and managing complex Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A).
- Technical Mastery: High competence in financial accounting, systems implementation, and corporate finance within a VC/PE context.
- The "Start-Up" DNA: You must be comfortable in an environment with zero bureaucracy. We need a leader who can make "tough-call" decisions that have an immediate, tangible impact on the business.
- Educational Background: Advanced degree in Finance, Business Administration (MBA), or a related field; professional certifications (CPA, CFA) are highly preferred.
- Cultural Fluency: Experience operating within the Chinese market and the broader APAC ecosystem is essential.
