Our client, a global leader in luxury retail, is looking for a results-oriented and strategic Senior Talent Acquisition Project Leader to assist the APAC Chairman in leading and transforming hiring initiatives across the Asia-Pacific region. This is a crucial C-level position that requires a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of the talent market and the ability to develop and implement innovative, data-driven recruitment strategies to attract and secure top-tier talent. This role is a three-year contract based in Melbourne, Australia.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Talent Acquisition Leadership: Develop and champion a comprehensive talent acquisition strategy that aligns with the company's overall business objectives and long-term vision. Serve as a trusted advisor to the APAC Chairman and other senior leaders, providing expert consultation on effective sourcing channels, emerging recruitment trends, and the strategic direction of all staffing initiatives.
  • Program & Process Excellence: Design, implement, and oversee robust recruitment programs and processes that ensure efficiency, consistency, and compliance with global standards. Drive continuous improvement by leveraging technology and best practices to optimize the candidate and hiring manager experience.
  • Executive Stakeholder Management: Cultivate and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with the APAC Chairman, C-level executives, and key business leaders to proactively understand current and future talent needs. Provide consultative guidance, data-backed insights, and strategic recommendations to support business growth and succession planning.
  • Budget & Resource Stewardship: Manage the talent acquisition budget with a focus on maximizing return on investment (ROI). Monitor and analyze key metrics such as cost-per-hire, time-to-fill, and source-of-hire to ensure financial prudence and operational effectiveness. Present detailed reports and insights to senior leadership.
  • Global Integration & Collaboration: Partner closely with the Global Talent Development team and Corporate Headquarters to ensure regional talent initiatives are seamlessly integrated with the company's worldwide talent strategy. Facilitate the sharing of best practices and market intelligence to contribute to global success.

Qualifications

  • Experience: A minimum of 20 years of progressive experience in Talent Acquisition or Human Resources, with a substantial portion of that experience in a senior or leadership capacity within a large, complex organization. Prior experience in the retail or luxury goods sector is highly desirable.
  • Data & Analytics Proficiency: A thorough and practical understanding of talent acquisition metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs). The ability to measure, analyze, and report on the effectiveness of all recruitment initiatives to drive strategic decisions and demonstrate business impact.
  • Business Acumen: Proven experience in building compelling business cases and presenting new talent initiatives to executive-level audiences. The ability to articulate the potential cost, benefit, and strategic impact of talent projects in a clear and persuasive manner.
  • Executive Presence & Management Skills: Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic, high-volume environment. Possess a highly developed sense of urgency, strong follow-through, and the ability to consistently meet demanding deadlines.
  • Interpersonal & Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Educational Background: A bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field is required; a master's degree is a plus.
