Job Description

Our client, a prominent and globally recognized Family Company headquartered in Tokyo, Japan, is seeking an exceptional, C-Suite level professional to serve as the Senior Executive Assistant to the Group CEO. This pivotal role functions as the Group CEO's Chief of Staff and Strategic Advisor, serving as a crucial link between the CEO's vision and its execution across all global markets.
Based in Tokyo, the successful candidate will be the CEO’s most trusted partner, directly responsible for driving key corporate development initiatives, executing inorganic/organic growth strategies, and ensuring operational alignment. This leader will also be tasked with mentoring and leading a dedicated team of 11 Executive Assistants, setting the standard for C-Suite support and organizational excellence worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Corporate Development & M&A Leadership:
- Serve as the instrumental force in the strategy, execution, and integration of the Group’s inorganic and organic growth agenda, globally and domestically.
- Directly identify, evaluate, and execute complex M&A opportunities (including targeted company/asset acquisition), securing necessary financing, and leading the post-merger integration (PMI) process to realize strategic synergies.
Corporate Strategy & Execution:
- Articulate, fine-tune, and drive the corporate strategy for sustained value creation, translating the CEO’s vision into actionable business plans and measurable results.
- Analyze business performance and existing projects, providing unvarnished, strategic recommendations to the Group CEO and overseeing the execution of critical new initiatives and large-scale transformation projects.
Capital Markets & Financial Architecture:
- Lead all domestic and global fundraising initiatives, exploring both traditional and innovative capital raising structures to finance strategic growth and corporate development efforts.
- Work directly with global investors, investment banks, and key intermediaries (tax/legal advisors, regulators) to ensure the smooth, timely, and compliant implementation of complex financial strategies.
Advisory and Governance:
- Act as the Group CEO's primary strategic liaison and representative in high-stakes discussions with internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist in formulating and validating the Group’s Business Plan, Capital Structure, Pricing, and Timing for accessing capital markets to achieve growth objectives and enhance shareholder value.
Risk Management & Organizational Excellence:
- Establish and embed an advanced 'Risk Culture' throughout the organization by integrating an Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) policy and framework directly into the Group's core growth strategy.
- Mentor and provide strategic direction to the dedicated Executive Assistant team, ensuring world-class support and efficiency across the C-Suite.
Qualifications
- A Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance, Strategy, or an equivalent advanced degree from a top-tier global institution is required.
- Minimum of 20 years of progressive, relevant experience operating at a senior executive level within Medium-to-Giant-sized multinational corporations or a major Investment Bank, with a demonstrated focus on corporate development and strategy.
- Proven, direct experience in leading and closing complex, international M&A transactions and trade finance deals on a global scale.
- Exceptional executive presence, leadership, and persuasive communication skills to effectively lead credit approval forums and strategic discussions involving diverse, senior-level stakeholders from multiple global functions and geographies.
- Demonstrated capacity to thrive under extreme pressure and tight deadlines, with a track record of delivering results in time-critical, high-stakes financial and transactional environments.
- A profound ability to analyze, formulate, and articulate comprehensive business strategies that drive sustained value creation in areas including new business ventures, strategic investments, and market entry/development.
