- Proactively manage the credit quality of the portfolio and strive to exceed forecast impairment projections.
- Identify and highlight emerging risk issues and sub-standard credit exposures, and ensure that appropriate, timely action is taken to protect the bank's interests.
Strategic Advisory and Collaboration:

- Collaborate with business lines on credit guidelines, operating plans, and the implementation of new financing structures in the market.
- Provide expert feedback and advice to product and business lines, maintaining effective relationships and regular communications within the jobholder's areas of responsibility.
Corporate Governance and Policy Oversight:
- Maintain effective working relationships with Group Audit and Credit Review & Risk Identification teams to facilitate information exchange and provide valuable commentary in advance of credit audits.
- Support the timely implementation of audit and review findings.
- Assist in the formulation of Wholesale Risk policies and provide strategic inputs to the Regional Risk Policy and Risk Strategy teams as and when required.
Operational and Team Leadership:
- Lead the management of the workflow within the team to ensure the efficient operation of the centralized credit approval unit.
- Oversee the development and generation of management information (MI) to monitor the quality and quantity of team outputs.
- Provide guidance and training to new joiners within the offshore Regional Credit Risk Management (CRM) teams.
- Coordinate with local and onshore support functions to resolve infrastructural and human resources-related issues.
- Ensure business continuity and stability for the entire function.
Qualifications
Professional Experience & Education:
- A minimum of 20+ years of progressive experience in handling medium and large corporate clients within a financial institution.
- Possession of an MBA (Finance) or equivalent, CA, ICWA, CS, CAIIB, and/or CFA credentials.
- Thorough understanding of Group Lending Guidelines, as well as various corporate banking and treasury products.
- Proven direct experience in handling complex and international trade finance, as well as a familiarity with specialized lending areas such as Commodity and Structured Trade Finance.
Technical Acumen:
- Exceptional analytical and technical skills, with the ability to understand, consolidate, and analyze diverse and intricate business information to identify and mitigate risk issues.

- Proven leadership skills with the capacity to lead discussions and credit approval forums involving senior stakeholders from multiple functions and geographies.
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills, with the ability to deal with and present conflicting views to senior management in a clear, concise, and professional manner.
